Who ever said Western men are responsible for all violence against women? I was addressing Western men because I am one. I think this war on terror is wholly counterproductive, might be the quickest road to our demise, since it recruits far more enemies than it puts out of action, while accomplishing nothing besides making some war profiteers richer and making the Constitution virtually a dead letter. I don’t buy the Bush doctrine. I’m not with him or whoever was behind the attacks on 9/11. News flash, I’m a heretic. I’m my own person, not on the side of anybody with political power in this world, though sometimes I may agree with a rebel.

Are you a men’s rights activist? I ask, partly because they like to cite studies such as your choice, ignoring the fact the vast majority of male violence against women goes unreported, at least to authorities. However, I think the ratio you dispute, while difficult to pin down too closely, is closer to 10 to 1 than 100 to 1, while some men’s rights activists claim it’s closer to 1 to 1.

Women have not gained so much, thanks to the sometimes reluctant consent of the men. Women gained all that through their own efforts, despite fierce resistance from most men. Do you have any idea what women went through to win the right to vote? Rights are not supposed to be given by consent of the authority. Governments are supposed to govern by the consent of the governed. Governments exist to protect rights, not concede them. Men conceded some exclusive privileges men never deserved in the first place. Our founding fathers didn’t think women deserved any rights; females were chattel, legally property of fathers until adults or married, when husbands took over. True, sharia law makes no bones about treating women as inferior to men, whereas most of our laws maintain a pretense of fairness nowadays. You seem to think women in Afghanistan are better off thanks to the war that displaced the Taliban temporarily. In some ways, that may be true, but in other ways, it certainly isn’t. There’s no question Iraqi women are worse off. As bad as Saddam Hussein was, his laws were relatively secular and fair to women, no comparison to sharia law. Living conditions there never had a chance to fully recover since Bush Sr’s attack, thanks to the sanctions, and are far worse now.

I’m hardly looking for a perfect world. However, I think many problems are caused by men in positions of power that have no reason to exist other than to benefit them and perpetuate that power. I’m not talking just about the corruption of the rich and politically powerful, but also about how male violence against women benefits men and perpetuates male power over women.

Muslim Leader blames women for sex attacks

Interesting how you think the war is wrong, and how men, and it appears you are addressing men of the "western world," are the root of all evil that befalls women, yet the "men" on the other side of the equation really do beat and imprison their wives and daughters, murder them to save face (look up "honor killings"), and, as we saw in Afghanistan, would not let them work, get an education, or even medical care.

And let's not forget that a study (published in USA Today about 3 years ago) showed about 30% of the "spousal abuse" was caused by women. The researchers, until they ran their analysis, didn't realize even they had been under the accepted belief that about 99% of the abuse was preformed by men.

I actually see it as an issue of both genders having people who do not "get it" and cannot handle a decent relationship. As soon as you get that people are flawed, racism and sexism, to name a few bad things in the "ism" category, are done by all types of people against all other types of people.

So, let us now pull back and cower, waiting (not) so patiently for our demise, particularly of the women of our society, who have gained so much, thanks to the sometimes reluctant consent of the men, and toss them back to the stone age, barefoot and pregnant.

As with other "venues" all it takes is a small percentage of bad actors, and a press willing to shill the case until we think (while we never wintess it) it happens around every corner.

Try some science: A properly done electric shock will begin the process of cell replication from an unfertilized egg. Just perfect that proven work and there will no need to waste energy on sub-zero containers at the sprem bank. Just think, even you can be done without in those circumstances.

It would seem you are looking for a perfect world. It would seem logically that it doesn't exist, ergo, we have a choice: Sit and complain or get up and make it better.
