Subject: Art’s Letter to GARY‘s Health Support Group
We are in a SPECIAL Time with our last Health Support Group.
First – We just started a new ‘Empowerment Series’. This is a Kick “in the seat of your pants” Seminar. Gary said at our last Seminar – not to come back if you are not willing to do the work. To me this is Gary‘s way of getting us out of our heads and to making this work Real. The purpose of this series is to empower you in realizing the protocol. Actualization is the Focus. Gary emphasized how important focus is in starting and carrying thru with our intentions. A Commitment is necessary for this protocol. If the protocol is not working for you look at your commitment.
When I started the Protocol with the first H.S.Group in 2000, I remember my denial that a Commitment to have the Protocol work would take time. Gary says a 1½ to 2 year commitment for most – and longer for others.
I had to keep reminding myself that it took years to accumulate my arthritis, high cholesterol & blood pressure, poor eyesight and hemorrhoids – plus my overweight condition. So I continue attending meetings with Luanne, guest speakers, the Films and , Gary‘s call-ins.
We met every other week. Then we changed to once a month. Some of us said that once a month is not enough… so we restarted meeting twice a month.
Diet change was relatively easy. I stopped chicken, wheat, occasional wine, eating late meals before bed, plus hidden sugars. I cut back on restaurant meals.. especially salads and breads. Using Greens & Grains and Red Stuff supported my fresh vegetable juicing and was the most important thing I included.
In three month I lost 17 pounds without dieting. This was a surprise for me! It in turn gave me energy to start increasing my exercising. And I went from doing once a week to three times a week.
One objective of mine has been to do a marathon – since I was 30 years old. But I kept putting it off – into my 40’s & 50’s. But finally I did start my marathon training. To make a long story short, I did my first marathon this past March. I finished in less than 6 hours. Totally exited and exhausted I said “Never again!” However, I have done two more marathons – and plan to do even more. They help get me in shape and – bottom line – they are fun !
Meditation and Stress Management came later. Gary said to Detox from junk foods and also Detox from Toxic Relationships. This was slow as most things are when one is in denial. Slowly I detoxed and cut out toxic relationships. Mainly I stopped relationships that did not honor my life style. I now have more quality friends that support me on this journey.
Going to the “Retreats” with Gary, at his Naples Paradise Gardens, was a break-thru in understanding Gary‘s urging us to “get out of Los Angeles“. Being out of this environment for just the short time of 1 week, and being in a clean and beautiful environment that dealt with increased Energy, was very enlightening. This gave me the boost I needed to start thinking about moving away from L.A.
I am reminded that we are atop the San Andrea Fault system – and that the edges of the plates will always be moving against each other. The prediction is that we will have a devastating earthquake within 5 to 20 years.
Moving is not easy for me. Leaving family and familiar places is difficult. However, just waiting for the inevitable earthquake was not enough for me to move. The prediction that a 7.5 earthquake will take one to two million lives and make a 300 mile radius unlivable, plus creating a 50 to 100 foot tsunami, is something I do not want to be around for. Even knowing this still was not enough to make me decide to leave.
The “topper” was – my small town recently added Fluoride to our water supply. Even tho I can filter my drinking water, it is NOT possible to economically filter for showers and baths. We get more Fluoride in showers than in drinking water. I now take sponge baths, with fluoride free water, to cut down on my daily exposure. This is my attempt to cut out the flood of fluoride into my environment.
Pollution from our smog, and now from China, together with extreme congestion of cars and people, together with the degradation of our water supply, was the tipping point for me. This city is not healthy for me to live in, Sooo I have decided to move.
I am planning to move in September. There I will then develop, with the help of like minded people, an on-going “Retreat Center” where people can stay for longer periods of time. The focus will be on Gary‘s Protocols for Diet, Nutrition, Exercise and Detoxing – plus learning the Art of Bonsai for Health & Stress Release. I have wanted to teach Bonsai for sometime. And now I have the purpose to combine this and reality, together with my interest in having people actualize the good lifestyle that Gary has brought us.
